Connecting you with me

“What happens after I reach out?”

1

What are you looking for?

You’ll be asked a few questions to help determine if we are a right fit. Finding the right fit for you and your needs is one of the most important parts of this whole process. I want to ensure I can support you in your goals and that you resonate with me.

2

Intake.

If we are the right fit we will set up a 50 min intake session. This session will allow me to gather your goals, get to know you better, and hopefully allow you to get a feel for my style and begin to develop our professional relationship.

3

Treatment Planning.

After the intake, we will discuss what I think we should do moving forward while keeping in mind your availability, budget, and goals.

"Our wounds are often the openings into the best and most beautiful parts of us.”

“The good life is a process, not a state of being. It is a direction, not a destination.”

FAQs

I am an existing client from your previous practice. What should I be aware of?

As you transition from the previous clinic with its receptionists and multi-level support to my solo private practice, there will be some notable changes for existing clients. Firstly, the main difference will be the absence of receptionists and additional support staff. Instead, you will be directly interacting with me for all administrative and scheduling matters. Please note that you will need to create a new client profile within the system I utilize for my private practice. This new system will streamline the process and ensure efficient communication between us. Although the transition may bring some adjustments, rest assured that I am fully committed to providing you with the same high-quality care and personalized attention you have come to expect.

How do I contact you?

As a solo practitioner, I do not have a dedicated receptionist or a business phone line at this time. To ensure efficient communication, I kindly request that you reach out to me via email at director@bishaypsychology.com. If you require phone communication, please inform me via email, and I will gladly arrange a call during my business hours. Please note that if I contact you, it may be from a blocked number to maintain privacy.

How do I book sessions?

To schedule a session, I recommend using the convenient online Jane portal. By accessing the portal, you can easily select the type of session you wish to book and view my availability. To get started, please follow the link below to create a profile and book your sessions: bishaypsychology.janeapp.com. This user-friendly platform will streamline the process for you.

How often will I need to come to therapy?

This varies for every client. Once we determine your goals, I will offer my suggestion for session frequency. I will ensure I check in with your availability, budget, and expectations accordingly. Some clients will see me weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly. The frequency can often change as we progress through our sessions as well. Depending on what you are coming to therapy for, we could have a short-term or long-term relationship.

Who should seek therapy?

Therapy is beneficial for anyone and everyone, regardless of whether they are in crisis or have experienced significant trauma. Simply having a non-judgmental and confidential space of support can be immensely valuable. Personal exploration and gaining objective perspectives are fundamental aspects of therapy that can benefit everyone.

Many of us have not been taught effective strategies for managing life's stressors. It is common to struggle with independently working through challenges due to feeling overwhelmed, having limited resources, lacking support, or simply not having learned how to navigate such situations. This is precisely why therapy can be helpful for anyone, as it provides the opportunity to learn new skills, gain insights, and develop coping mechanisms in a supportive and professional environment.

Can you direct bill?

At this time, we are pleased to offer direct billing services to a select few insurance companies.  We are committed to continually reviewing and expanding this list to better accommodate our clients' needs and preferences. Rest assured, if your insurance provider is not listed, we will provide you with all the necessary documentation to submit your insurance claim independently.

How are workshops beneficial?

Organizations and groups often encounter challenges or specific goals they are hoping to achieve. However, being immersed in the organizational culture can sometimes lead to biases and communication barriers due to prevalent dynamics and inter-relational patterns. In such cases, having an external resource to facilitate growth, provide education, and align with corporate goals can be highly beneficial. This external perspective allows groups to tap into an objective source of support.

By understanding your specific goals, we can design a workshop tailored to address those objectives. Drawing from my psychological background and experiences, I am well-equipped to engage participants while acknowledging and embracing the diversity present within the group. I recognize that individuals possess unique learning styles, comfort levels with engagement, and personal struggles that must be considered when implementing any change. These essential components are always taken into account when developing my workshops, ensuring that they are inclusive, impactful, and sensitive to the needs of each participant.

Do you offer a sliding scale for therapy?

At this time, all of my sessions are a fixed fee. However, I truly believe therapy should be more accessible and I do not want finances to be the barrier to people receiving counselling. With that, I will set aside a few allocated sessions a year for those with extenuating circumstances. If you think that is you, let’s chat some more and see what I can do!
